Rawlinson’s Oxford Student’s History of India 1908 – OCRd as a Word document

This book (I had been taught a later edition – very similar – but I can’t readily locate my personal copy) is available on

I’ve OCRd this since I want to remind myself about what I was taught as Indian history in year 8 in school (this book was the prescribed text in Bishop’s Convent in Pune where I studied for a few months before moving to Kendriya Vidyalaya Southern Command).

I used this book in preparing for the IAS exam in 1981. It supplemented other books, mainly by NCERT.

DOWNLOAD HERE. Note that I’ll keep updating as I find time.
