Detailed analysis of why advance funding (i.e. prior to elections) is fatal to the democratic process #2
Before I do anything else, here is an argument I wish to rebut first. (time permitting, I might compile all such proposals into a single booklet, in due course)
PROPOSAL: The government should fund those candidates who meet certain criteria.
REBUTTAL: The Constitution of India sets age limits for candidates. After that anyone and everyone is eligible to contest. That is how it should be. There are no “experts” and having a degree doesn’t make anyone educated or capable of thinking.
It is undemocratic in the extreme to set “criteria” for candidates who receive taxpayer support.
