The disaster called proportional representation system

The mess of the PR system is obvious to any observer:

ITALY

“Italy has had more than 60 governments in the last 70 years.” [Source]

FRANCE

“The system conjures up bad memories of the political instability of France’s Fourth Republic between 1946 and 1958. During this period, France was run by 20 different governments in just three legislative terms.” [Source]

ENGLAND EXPLORED THIS IDEA BUT REJECTED IT IN 1918
I was watching a Netflix documentary yesterday, “Long Shadow” in which David Reynolds explains how Britain REJECTED the proportional representation system. From his book (The Long Shadow: The Great War and the Twentieth Century)

In episode 2 of the Netflix documentary he discusses the mess that occurred in France because of its electoral system – see from 17 minutes.
