Much of Hinduism is an imported religion, just like Islam or Christianity
I think this point needs to be made clear, based on the analysis I outlined earlier today.
The Hindutva argument – already hopeless from all angles – falls flat on its face because "Hinduism" (as perceived by these people) is not a domestic but a FOREIGN religion which continues in a distorted form inside India. (Not that I have any issues with religions merely because of the source of their origin – I oppose all religion, without exception.)
The only difference is that it was imported a long time ago, unlike other religions like Islam and Christianity, which came much later.
The only genuine Hindus are those who are skeptics and agnostics. That was an innovation in philosophy strictly indigenous to India.
