Thoughts on economics and liberty

The brilliant Ajit Varadaraj Pai. How I wish we had even one such forthright person in India.

I chanced upon this article in Reason. Do read it and watch the entire video.

I’m merely providing 2 minutes from it below, which says things as clearly as I’d want anyone to say. Ajit Pai is one of the most brilliant thinkers I’ve come across. In just 30 minutes of listening to him, I know he is a true leader.

NET NEUTRALITY THROUGH GOVERNMENT REGULATION IS A REALLY BAD IDEA.

NET NEUTRALITY IS A BRANCH OF SOCIALISM.

JUST FIVE MINUTES TO UNDERSTAND WHY NET NEUTRALITY IS A TERRIBLE, SOCIALIST, STATIST IDEA

I shared this video and noted here: Why net neutrality is just as bad as the king who said: Taka seer bhaji, taka seer kaju.
It is the same as saying that everyone who goes to hospital must be treated in a “first come first served” basis, and that triage to identify and prioritise is illegal.
It is the same as saying that a mother MUST give the same attention and priority to one of her toddlers who is crying because he is bored and her 10 year old child who has been badly injured in the playground and needs urgent medical attention.
NOTHING in the world is “neutral” or “equal”. These are socialist concepts bereft of any real-life meaning.
