IPCC’s dénouement is not going to be pleasant – Climategate 2.0

The spate of bad news for IPCC doesn't seem to end. And it won't, for its entire effort had much in it that was not scientific but designed to fool the world into "doing something".

Unfortunately for IPCC's spin masters, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time".

It now appears that few within the scientific community believe in Michael Mann. Recall that Mann is the man who cooked up (through his "hockey stick" graph) the revision of (erstwhile) well-respected knowledge about temperatures changes over the past 2000 years.

<3373> Bradley:

I’m sure you agree–the Mann/Jones GRL paper was truly pathetic and should never have been published. I don’t want to be associated with that 2000 year “reconstruction”. […]

<2884> Wigley:

Mike, The Figure you sent is very deceptive […] there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model results by individual authors and by IPCC […]

<4369> Cook:

I am afraid that Mike is defending something that increasingly can not be defended. He is investing too much personal stuff in this and not letting the science move ahead.

These three quotations say it all. See details here.

"Professor McKitrick, professor of economics at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, said the perception that the IPCC represented a rigorous process in which the international community played a role was largely a myth." [Source]
