Thoughts on economics and liberty

Amitabh Bachchan finally sees the truth about Australia. He should now apologise.

Two years ago Amitabh Bachchan made wide-ranging and baseless allegations about Australia, calling it a "country that perpetrates such indignity to my fellow countrymen". I cautioned him against making wild allegations, suggesting: "Don't listen to the Indian media and TV. These guys are out of their mind!"

But clearly my blog's reach is very limited, for he never got my message and therefore formally declined to accept an honory doctorate from some (really lowly ranked) university (Queensland university of technology). (Btw, he shouldn't be accepting doctorates from every tom dick and harry university, anyway.)

Finally, it now appears that he has changed his mind. Good on him.

It would have been nice if this news was as prominently posted in Indian newspapers as his first allegations were.

He might also now consider apologising to the Australian people while he is here (apparently he is in Sydney at the moment). A truth-seeker changes his mind when his knowledge of the facts changes, and is not afraid to apologise.
