Videos on the history of liberty (the story of classical liberalism)
Came across two talks by Stephen Davies on the history of classical liberalism, about its rise, then decline, and now – its resurgence.
The two talks (a total of two hours) provide a number of interesting perspectives, including how, during the first half of the 19th century, the classical liberals got rid of slavery and gained agreement to free trade. Later they were taken unawares by the unexpected growth of imperialism, nationalism and large government (socialists/fascists) and remained on the defensive for decades.
Anyway, enjoy. Davies is a very knowledgeable man.
