Gurcharan Das was here in Melbourne a few years ago (2008) and presented a wonderful talk about India at the theatrette  in Telstra's head office. Philip Adams was at the podium as a discussant along with Phil Burgess.

Phil Adams is Australia's second most highly respected journalist (the first – although such things are always debatable – being The Australian's Editor at large, Paul Kelly, whom I've had the privilege of hearing twice). Phil's writings are brilliant, and although he leans to the left on economic matters, he does promote liberty in its other forms and shapes. 

On 26 January 2012, Phil Adams interviewed Gurcharan once again, this time on radio. The advantage of radio is that it is now possible to listen to the radio interview later, which is what I did today. 

It is an excellent interview. I'd urge you to spare 20 minutes of your time to listen to Gurcharan explain The Difficulty of Being Good to Phil. Phil has prepared himself well for the interview, and is generally an excellent promoter of India to Australia.

The interview ends on an fascinating note. Indeed, when Gurcharan and I had dinner in Melbourne, that is how we left, marvelling at the amazing Yudhishtra and the dog. If anything, that story summarises the entire question of goodness and dharma.
